There is no prescribed OKR cadence one can follow regarding how frequently you should set your OKRs. John Doerr, Author of “Measure What Matters,” believes that 1-3 months is the sweet spot. The period is long enough to see results but short for action to feel urgent. You may have overlapping timelines too. For instance, you may set high-level OKRs annually and then break them down into shorter quarterly or even monthly OKRs.
Besides, knowing when it is time to revisit your goals is critical. As the business changes, goals change. Revisit your goals as often as needed. Only then can you ensure the topmost business priorities are considered first, and work is delivered accordingly.
